The Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador has issued a new health regulation that will take effect on Monday, May 12, 2025, requiring certain travelers to present a valid International Certificate of Yellow Fever Vaccination upon entry into the country.
Who is required to show proof of vaccination?
This requirement applies to:

Travelers arriving from Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, or Brazil

Individuals of any nationality who have spent more than 10 days in any of these countries

Citizens or residents of Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, or Brazil, regardless of length of stay

Ecuadorian citizens returning from these countries
What if Ecuadorian travelers don’t have the certificate?
In such cases, they will be vaccinated upon arrival and placed under home observation, in accordance with guidelines from the Ministry of Health.

If you’re planning to travel to Ecuador from any of the mentioned countries—or have recently spent time there—make sure to get vaccinated in advance and carry your certificate to avoid disruptions.
Important: Passengers without the vaccination certificate will not be allowed to board their flight.
