From Junior to CTO at Smartvel in Just 8 Years

In April 2016, Arturo Romero joined Smartvel with just two years of experience, a huge desire to learn, and the privilege of having Miguel Camacho as a mentor. Switching tech stacks completely didnโ€™t scare him โ€” in fact, it was exactly what motivated him the most.

He started out as a Software Engineer, and soon the context and needs of the company led him to explore new areas such as Cloud and DevOps. It marked the beginning of a continuous learning journey, where curiosity, courses, and hands-on experience played a key role. Being part of a startup allowed him to wear many hats, take on new challenges, and be involved in key decisions from early on.

In 2021, he took the next step as VP of Engineering, combining strategic thinking with the joy of still diving into code whenever possible. A year later, in 2022, he decided to strengthen his profile by completing a Master’s in Development and Operations (DevOps) at UNIR, aiming to tackle tech challenges with a broader perspective.

Now, in 2025, he celebrates a new chapter as CTO of Smartvel, committed to driving technology and product forward โ€” while staying true to the spirit that brought him here.

๐Ÿ’™ โ€œI canโ€™t imagine this journey without the amazing team that has been by my side all these years. Because in the end, what truly matters is the people you share the journey with.โ€

Congratulations, Arturo. And we keep moving forward. ๐Ÿš€
